This year a Ros & Jerry have offered to help with team management but both hope to run in the races. Ted & Jose have again offered to help at the finish to collect the tickets & do the results sheets & I am grateful for all their offers of help. Ideally we need 4 non-runners available to help at each race, at the present time I’m not sure of my fitness, but if possible I’d like to run some of the races, so if you are not running but coming along to support at any of the races please offer to help.
We now have provisional details of this summer’s races. Last year we finished 3rd team in division 1, let’s see if we can do even better this year, however we will need to achieve good turnouts at all the meetings to achieve this. This is a friendly and sociable league and we encourage runners of all standards to compete, the more runners we turn out the better our chances.
I need to submit a list of our potential athletes before the season starts, so any member who didn’t compete last year in any of the MWRRL races & wants to run this year, needs to email me their full name & date of birth asap to be included.
Full details for each race will be in the club weekly email, on facebook and the club website, There is also a Mid-Week-League facebook page. Results will be posted on the www.runherts.com website.
The clubs in Div 1 we will be competing against are St Albans, Trent Park, Orion, NHRR & FVS. 2nd claim runners will again be allowed to compete, providing that their first claim club is not competing in the league & they are registered before the season begins. The other teams competing in Div 2 & 3 are:- GCR, Royston, BSRC, Harlow, Harpendan Arrows, Stevenage Striders, Hitchin, Stevenage & NH, Freedom Tri, Edmonton RC, Herts Phoenix, Broxbourne, & Watford Joggers (new this year)
Refreshments will be provided after most of the races, however some clubs may ask for a small donation towards costs. Info will be given on individual race details. We are jointly hosting the 3rd race with TPR in Trent Park as usual & the Mob-Match & Presentation evening will again be hosted by Garden City.

Minimum age for runners is 15. Age categories are as at the date of the 1st race. Vet categories start at Men 40+ & Women 35+. All runners should be responsible for their own safety especially when running on public roads. The use of headphones is not allowed. Please retain your race number for all 5 races & fill in your details on the reverse & remember Club vests MUST be worn.
Just a reminder on the scoring in Div 1: Senior Men – 12, Senior Women – 8, Veteran Men – 6, Veteran Women – 4. B & C teams will also be scored although only A teams will count for league points.
