Boxing Day Handicaps 2023

The sun shone on Boxing Day 2023 as we welcomed 31 seniors and 3 young athletes to Trent Park for a shot at glory.

The young athletes got underway first and were won by Demi, just a few seconds ahead of Mia on the 1 mile course along the main drive.. Harrison matched his bronze medal from last year with third place again, and a time that was 5 seconds faster than 2022 as well.

  1. Demi - 09:04 (9:04 running time)

  2. Mia - 09:17 (07:17)

  3. Harrison - 10:30 (6:00)

The course for the seniors was changed to an out and back on a mix of road and trail, due to earth works at the bottom of Cottage Hill. This change was welcomed as runners got to see how far behind/ahead they were during the race. There was joy for Anne Wood who managed to get home 11 seconds before a fast-closing Des Michael. Further back in the field, Jorjia March and Noah Clarke were the fastest athletes on the day.

  1. Anne Wood - 43:10 (40:04)

  2. Des Michael - 43:21 (30:51)

  3. Karen Bickerstaff - 43:47 (43:47)
