Ealing Half Marathon

On Sunday 24th September four Stags (and one former Stag) raced this popular, friendly and very well organised Half Marathon. The weather was perfect for racing and we were lucky enough to catch up with former Stag Nina Atherton before and after the race (she was too quick during the race obviously!). The race is run entirely on closed roads and pavements with some sharp turns and a few inclines to keep us honest; undulating rather than hilly though. Highly recommended!

Having done Andy’s Hog Hill session the day before! Brian Lallaway set off at a cracking pace and led the Stags home in a new PB of 1:41:02. Can’t wait to see how well he does at Hog Hill. Mind you if he forgets his Club Vest again we may have to enforce the no Club Vest no photo rule. He was followed home in close order by David Scott (1:56:48), Geraldine Stapleton (1:59:11) and Dave Byrne (1:59:53); the three of whom ran together and encouraged each other for much of the race. Great fun! Nina finished in a magnificent time of 1:34:59.

We enjoyed it so much we will return next year.
