Tring 50K Ultra

This weekend Agnes, Steph, Kathryn and Sarah ran the Tring 50k. The team came 24th female overall (singular - having crossed the finish line together), with a time of 7.5 hours. A shout out especially goes to Agnes, who ran not only her first ultra but also her first marathon! Olympic music was played as she hit the 26.2 mile mark.

It was a perfect day for running - blue skies and not too hot. The course was stunning. It started at Tring cricket club with the first few miles being deceptively flat along the canal. It then meandered through woodlands and over the Chiltern hills before returning to Tring. It was almost entirely off road, with great views throughout.

As with any ultra, walls were hit, but team spirit, a karaoke session and salt tablets helped with any bumps along the way.

The Tring 50k is run by Xnrg, who run a number of ultra races in Bucks. They’re a family run events team who are absolutely lovely. Their races are more affordable than many out there, and all profits go to charity. Their hospitality, snacks at aid stations and general running of the event was fantastic. Would highly recommend for anyone fancying an ultra adventure!

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable day of running. Now for some rest!
