Registration
Collect your number on the night from the registration desks just inside the track entrance.
Warming up
Please warm up in the park or use the outside lanes of the back straight. Don’t warm up on or cross the grass infield as this will block the view of the officials.
Before the race
Once the race prior to yours is underway, please head to the container just after the finish area to register for your race. Please do this so that we can keep to time.
During the race
The race is over four and a bit laps of the track, starting from a curved line. You don’t have to stay in lanes. The elapsed time will be called out at the end of each lap, and you will hear the bell when you have one lap remaining.
Each race will have a pacemaker running the pace indicated for 2 laps. They will be wearing a number on their front and back which says 'PACE'.
After the race
Once you have finished please move away from the finish line as other athletes may be finishing quickly behind you. Do not cross back over the finish line.
Shoes
The officials and UKA have asked me to remind you of the UK Athletics and World Athletics rules on legal footwear for track races. In summary, thick soled carbon plated shoes such as Vaporflys and equivalents are not legal footwear for track races and you run the risk of disqualification if you run in them. This rule will be strictly enforced in races with a predicted finish time under 5:30, or where records are on the line.
Spectators
We are delighted to welcome spectators again and encourage you all to stick around after your race to cheer on all of our athletes. You can cheer on athletes from lane 3, but please avoid the area close to the finish line.
Presentations and prizes
The winner of each race will take home a Golden Stag Mile mug!
The fastest three male and female athletes on the night (from any race) will also receive cash prizes:
